Does the job
This bed looks nice, but isn't super strong. It definitely cannot support an adult's weight. Don't expect to sit on it because the slats will break. We made that mistake and had to replace several slats. It is suitable for a toddler though and the price is good.
never received
Initially ordered 7/27/10. Now 9/1/10 and it's still not here! Numerous emails to Amazon and I just keep getting the same general response 'there is a delay in shipping' no explanation at all. At the same time the bed was ordered I ordered the mattress. That came and my 2 year old gets to sleep on the floor on the mattress. Real crappy customer service with this item/purchase!!! I am so not happy with Amazon at this point!
not so good....
I wanted a toddler bed for my soon to be 3 yr old daughter and i found this one on amazon, it looked really nice, but i didnt understand why the prices change with the color, i ordered the expensive one coz it matched the rest of the furniture in the room, it was easy to assemble.
BUT the rods that hold the mattress are really flimsy and very weak, one of them kind of broke last week, but thankfully it wasnt totally broken, and we still use it, but the problem is if one totally breaks, the whole bed would be useless, and i dont know if these rods are sold seperately.
I wouldnt recommend this bed.
Pretty little bed!
I purchased the bed for my granddaughter's second birthday. My daughter said it was so easy to put together and is the cutest little thing! I was shocked at the reasonable price and expected to pay more. It is so much cuter than the plastic toddler beds that cost much more. She is so proud of her big girl bed....and so are we!
Very Nice Toddler Bed
This is a very nice toddler bed. The finish is darker than expected (although, it seems there is no consistent tint to "cherry" among many manufacturers) and the bed came with a few scratches. The scratches are mostly in places that are hidden by the assembly or the mattress. They don't appear to have been caused by packaging or shipping. During assembly, we found that the dowels weren't securely holding the left post to the headboard nor the left post to the footboard, so we used carpenter's glue to secure those posts before assembling the bed. Other than that, assembly was quick, the instructions easy to follow, and the bed has been quite sturdy for our 2½-year-old son, who we've often caught jumping on the bed (unfortunately) with no damage to the bed (fortunately).
P.S. I love Amazon Prime!

Fine for what it is, but pretty cheap
To be honest, I didn't expect much given the cost, but was still disappointed to find out the box is made of cardboard (albeit very sturdy cardboard). Had I known that, I wouldn't have bought it. Still, it's meant for a child which means it's not going to last forever regardless of what it's made of.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 10-year old granddaughter. She seemed happy with it when she opened it. For the price, I was quite impressed with it. I would recommend for anyone as a different kind of gift for a horse lover.
Fine for horse loving kids
We purchased this for our 11-year ld (horse loving) niece and she likes it. I was disappointed that it is kind of cheap looking in real life, but she still likes it. It has lots of little compartments that she enjoys, and it suits her needs.
Darling!!
Bought this music box along with the suggested stamp set and coloring book for less money than the music box alone at a tradtional retail store! My 8-year old is thrilled with all! The stamp set alone I saw in a retail store for over $20. The music box is a nice beginner jewelry box for those first higher quality jewelry pieces (i.e. sterling silver charm bracelet, gold locket etc...). The song it plays is pleasant, too. If your little girl loves horses and jewelry -what little girl doesn't- don't hestitate, suprise them with this set!
Great Buy
My daughter is a big horse fan so this was a big hit. She loved it. It seems to be very well made.

Hot Baby Products: Argington Bam Crib & Bassinet

Posted by admin Sep 08, 2010

I floor in attraction with this straightforward crib from Argington as lickety-split as I laid eyes on it. The trim lines, rounded corners and curved feet turn for a very drawing crib, and it's made of sustainable wood (birch or bamboo) with environmentally kindly finishes, so it's appealing from a "country-like" point of view, too.

Since I've been looking for a wood bassinet lately, I unusually valuable that the Bam crib can start out as a bassinet, and then switch to a full-appraise crib with the summation of a few unusually pieces. When you obtain the crib and bassinet set, you get all of the parts for both, extra a bassinet mattress, for about $600. Solely add a measure crib mattress when it's habits, and baby has a slumber wait that will last for several years.

This crib has a brawny wood mattress ratify that can be adjusted to three positions, and the bassinet has serviceable wheels so it's unquestionably moved around the clan. You can also get associate kits to add a trundle drawer or fetching bassinet canopy, or to remake the crib into a spectacular toddler bed with curved front rails.

What People ask about Wood Baby Beds

How would you feel in this situation? (baby shower/furniture related)?

Baby #1 due 07/16/2010 aksed: My mother-in-law wants to buy the crib for our baby. She asked me to pick out ones that I want, but all that I have picked out she doesn't like and doesn't want to get. What I really wanted was a 3 piece nursery set for around $200 that has everything that we need for the nursery (crib, changer, AND dresser). My husband and I are on a tight budget and can't afford to get any extras ourselves. I figured it wasn't asking her to pay much either.

She said she didn't want to do that and wanted me to pick out a nicer crib, so I did. She didn't like it either.

She wants to buy a crib that's dark wood. I want white because it will look so pretty with the bedding I already purchased and my rooms are trimmed in white (white baseboards, white doors, white windows, etc). I just think white would look so pretty and that dark wood would clash with the pink walls we are planning on having and the bedding.

No matter what I suggest, she won't buy! It's starting to frustrate me. At the same time I feel bad for not wanting the dark wood cause she is buying, but in the same regard, if my husband and I were the ones buying, we would go for the $200 set and not have to worry about buying a dresser and changer. Ugh.

How would you feel and have you been in a similar situation?

summer answered: Maybe your husband needs to step up to the plate and speak to his mother in regards of this situation.

He should tell his mom that you both are very thankful that she wants to help you out, but that she is making this a stressful situation cause she does not like anything that you have chosen. And, you both prefer having a white furniture set, so that it compliments your baby's nursery and the baby bedding. If she wants to continue to make this a big situation when it does not have to be, then she needs to either let you pick the set that you want. Or, tell her you both will be buying the set yourselves.

I do not understand why people have to make such big deals in the shorter scheme of things. I mean what is important here is that your baby has a beautiful crib in which to sleep in. Your mother in law needs to stop being so controlling. If she wanted to pick out the crib she should have just done so and surprised the both of you. I think it is sad when others are so controlling that way--like I will do this for you, if you get what I want. Same with those family members and girls' buying their wedding dresses of their dreams. So many times the mothers/family members want one thing and the bride something totally opposite.

Just have a sit down discussion with her and let her know you are appreciative of all that she is doing for you , but that she is confusing you by her behavior. Best of luck!

Just let her know that you both really want a white one and if she doesnt want to get you the one you want then you dont want her to buy it. Just because she wants to buy it for you doesnt mean she gets to control what you want. Sounds like shes trying to be in control of soemthing that should be between your husband and you and shes using money to do it.

Help i need help with a baby Tawney owl! help!!!?

Georgia aksed: My sister and my friends found a baby owl in the woods and they brought it home, i know it had a better chance in the wild so dont rant at me about that! The local owl sancuary is only open on weekdays and its satureday, we left a message on their phone but no reply! And by the way we are giving to the sancuary in the week and we are going to get a licence so we can adopt him when he is older! ^^
Please help we need to keep it warm and feed it! We have put it in a shoe box filled with soft bedding and its eating worms...plese help are we doing everything right?
Thanks for your help! But we put him back about half an hour later, and we just checked on him and his mum was there! ^^ So this is a success story! :')

nini answered: Yes, that's right, I agree on the heat lamp, put it on one corner so it can run off if he's overheating. No on the water, don't put any water in the box.

it must be a great experience to get up close with a baby owl, and kudos to you for contacting a shelter.
