At 6 inches it would take less than 4 cubic yards; the average dump truck holds 9 cubic yards. Mulch costs very little in most areas so delivery will be the most expensive part of the equation. If you have a friend with a pickup you can probably buy his gas, pay for his time and feed him lunch for less than the delivery charge from the nursery. Ask some of your friends to help you bring in a pickup truck sized load. The mulch itself will only cost around $50.00 or $75.00 but delivery by the nursery will probably cost at least $100.00 unless they are within a mile of your house.
