I must have sounded dumbstruck or maybe he just heard the thump of my jaw as it hit the desk. I hadn't heard a human being speak that word in at least a decade.
Waterbeds. So cool. So hip. So wavy gravy, at least in the early days, when I'd ease myself onto the surface, close my eyes and wait for the tide to roll out. Never bought one. Never bought into the culture, even though friends who went agua never again allowed themselves to become beached on a common mattress.
"We've had our day in the sun," sighed Chuck. "It was a fad that lasted for three generations. Now, people associate waterbeds with the old hippie days. Some of our customers are 80 or 90 years old." Old hippies.
A few hours later I was sitting in Wooden Ships, a delightfully cluttered Riverside store, decorated with beautiful old clocks and objects of the sea, including a mounted marlin purchased from the Perris Salvation Army. Chuck Batarseh, 62 and decked out in a T-shirt and shorts, invited me to sit and listen to the story of a UCR political science grad who once rode the tide of the waterbed business.

Do waterbeds help arthritis? Is there a big difference between a waveless waterbed and a regular waterbed? Looking for scientific answers.
I have yet to read any such scientific data concerning any mattress.
Trying to find data that exists for all mattresses has been a project of mine for several years.
The heat from waterbeds seem to relax the body and sooth some arthritis
I've had a waterbed 2 times in my life...first was a semi wave and the other was a full wave. I'm thinking of going again for a 3rd time... this time with a much firmer mattresses, but so many choices. 95% waveless is what I'm looking at now. I have a
i hated full waves
semi waveless is nice
also you can get the kind that looks like a reg. bed mattress, and it is waveless
if your doing it for a hurt back, i would get waveless or semi-waveless
