Great product
I ordered the twin sized Nomad bed because 1)we tend to move a lot and 2)my teenage daughter wanted something very simple (she uses lots of pillows to decorate her bed!). The bed arrived even earlier than estimated, was very well packaged, and I had the thing out of the box and completely together within 30 minutes. My daughter says it is very comfortable (we have a regular twin mattress with a separate foam topper)and there is plenty of height to display her brightly colored storage boxes. I would recommend this bed to anyone who isn't into a highly decorated bed, and wants a bed that can come down and set up easily if one has to move. I may attach a headboard in the future but for now, she loves it and I'm pleased with the quality of the wood and smart design.
Perfect Solution
We bought the twin size for my son's tiny college apartment bedroom in Philly. He loves it. It arrived within a couple of days and went together quickly. The quality is very good. The storage space under the bed is a bonus for small bedrooms. Would buy another without hesitation.
Great Value and solid wood construction. Easy to Assemble
This product is priced even cheaper than garbage IKEA particleboard/MDF furniture. But unlike those, this is actually quality poplar hardwood, well cut and toleranced and easy to put together. Assembly was a breeze and bolts go into metal inserts allowing proper torque and tight assembly.

Regarding the center beams: Yes, they are higher than the slats by nearly exactly 3/16". It is NOT 3/8" or 1/2" like other reviews are saying. At 3/16" it CAN pose a problem with thinner futons but most likely you will not notice it.

Home Depot sells a 3/16" tempered pegboard material that is 48 inches by 96 inches. You can cut it into two panels at 24 inches by 78 inches each and you will be able to lay them over the slats for an even platform. The pegboard material is recommended for proper airflow.

At this price, I think it is not absurd to have to do a little DIY handiwork to get it perfect. Especially since the final product is excellent (unlike other cheap furniture where even after some DIY clamping and gluing and creativity, the final product leaves a lot to be desired).

Clearance under the bed is 11.75" leaving a lot of room to store stuff.

Highly recommended but beware the center beams MAY pose a problem and you may want to get some material to improve it.
Simple bed frame
This is a simple bed frame, nothing fancy. It was a cinch to put together - about 20 minutes for me. I like that is sits off the floor about 10 inches, will make it easy to vacuum under there. Can be stained or painted, but I like just as it is - a lite blondish color. Good price and made in the USA- NOT in China!
Very study bed frame.
The Queen Size Nomad Platform Bed Frame was delivered timely and in great condition. I am very pleased with this fame. I had an antique bed which was very high and I had a hard time getting up on it. I am a retired nurse and had two back surgeries, so I needed a lower, studier bed. I put it together with help from my son and it was accomplished within an hour. The frame is very sturdy and I love the fact that it is solid poplar wood. I made one mistake, however, I did not set in the slats before I tightened up the frame, so I had to loosen the bolts and place the slats on the bed and retighten the bolts. All together, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and am looking forward to my 14" memory foam mattress to be delivered to go on it. Another bonus is that the wood is unfinished and can be stained or painted to suit your decor. I am a totally satisfied customer and the price is great as well.

Good Storage, Reasonable Price
You have to understand it's "assembly required" furniture when you purchase it, but it's reasonable quality and a good value for the price - and excellent storage. The drawers fit together nicely and open easily - took about 90-110 minutes to assemble (use a power screwdriver, please). It holds a heavy mattress with no problem at all and the king size fit perfectly. It was "worth the money" compared to finding additional storage when you're "looking for space" in a smaller apartment/home. Just remember - it's not "fancy" and it's not "solid wood" but it's practical, it works, and it's reasonable quality for the price! It was shipped on time, arrived all in one piece, good directions and it WORKS!
Great Bed Frame!
Exactly what I wanted, a simple bed frame with lots of storage. It took a long time to put together, but if you're good at construction you'll be ok.
Nice Bed, shipped quickly and was fairly easy to set up.
I am perfectly happy with this bed, it is exactly what it said it would be. The instructions for assembly could have been better and more clear, but with some focus and attention to detail, it is easy enough to figure out.
NOT COMPATIBLE with king headboard
We got this bed in a bundle with the king storage headboard in attempt to rid our bedroom of all extraneous furniture. Well, the headboard is very front-heavy, and you need to attach the bedframe to it for stability. So, I line them up -- and the bed is 1" too wide! So this great bed set that I spent -- 700 or so dollars on? -- needs hacksaw and dremel work to make it stable. I have the injuries to show what happens if you don't attach the headboard properly.

If you are getting JUST the bed, it's a pretty good bed. The wooden slats aren't all flat (have persistent bends), which makes assembly difficult (you don't just lay the slats on top like other beds). Some of the drawers don't end up flush against the bed, and no amount of tweaking seems to fix it. And to tweak? Well, you pretty much have to take the bed apart (a 2-hour ordeal to see if you can adjust a drawer caster -- just to adjust it and find it makes no difference).

Other than that, it's pretty solid.
love this bed
It was easy to put together and is VERY sturdy and looks fantastic. The drawers are sufficient for us that we do not need a dresser. However if you do not want to bend down to get your clothes, they make wonderful storage drawers. My toddler can't get them open - which is wonderful. bed is very stylish and so much nicer than the Queen we had.

Good bed for good price
I bought this bed frame for my new apartment. It is very easy to assemble and is rock solid. The wood was good quality with some knots (easily sealed with shellac, oil-based polyurethane, or oil-based primer) and the workmanship is good as well. Very easy to finish either assembled or unassembled. The support slats are also strong and sturdy, though you may want to consider, as one other reviewer did, fabricating legs of some kind for larger sizes to be safe. Shipping was a tad slow (maybe they build them as they are ordered?), but once shipped it arrived quickly.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the fact I can't comment on its durability and longevity having only had it for a month.
Great bed
We bought this to use with our memory foam mattress instead of the metal Smartbase. It was very easy to assemble and works well with the trundle that we also purchased made by the same company. It looks nice and is very sturdy and you can stain it or leave it plain like I did.
Platform bed
I haven't as yet actually put this bed together as I am in the process of staining it.
The product arrived in a timely manner, in good condition and all the parts and
hardware were accounted for. I can tell by looking at the quality that it will be a
good solid bed and is exactly what I wanted. I will be purchasing other items from
this company as the prices are really reasonable and budget friendly.
Wasted weeks of my time
I wish I could actually review the product, but I can't. This is just a warning about The Room Doctor. They charged my credit card 8 weeks ago and when I finally called about the status of my frame they said it will go out in a few days, they were still working on it. Well, they sure didn't have to work very long to charge my credit card. I canceled my order and decided to order from a reputable company. I know this space should be reserved for reviews of the product, but I think a warning about this company is just as important.
Great Bed
I got this in a a full size for my 15 yr old daughter. We painted it black before assembly, which was easily done with just the two of us. We put it in a corner with lots of pillows against the walls. It makes a perfect lounging area for her and her friends. It is very study and looks great. Also has plenty of clearance for storage underneath. I will be getting another for my son.

Missing Hardware = Nightmare!!!
I order the King-Size Platform Bed. The bed arrived well packaged and well protected. All the wood was aptly surrounded by thick plastic wrapped styrofoam to protect the edges and corners from damage. The bed itself is pretty nice to look at. The wood for the drawers is very light weight, and very delicate so for me it was a little disappointing. I had hoped the wood would be a little more durable than this, but that's ok. They'll probably end up holding socks or something, lol. The worst nightmare was that this bed arrived missing an absurd amount of screws and hardware. I was barely able to put the bed itself together; however, at this time I could not put together ANY of the drawers, nor could I mount the hardware that holds the drawers in place. So basically I have a hallow bed with NO drawers in it. The particular screws and hardware that I needed could not be found at any hardware store here in town. I called the manufacturer in hopes I could get replacement screws and hardware. As of this writing I have not heard back from the manufacturer. The 1-800 number given on the instruction booklet for parts is always an answering machine so I leave a message. I'll re-comment this review "if/when" I hear back from the manufacturer.

Perhaps this was a fluke. Missing hardware aside, the bed was relatively simple to put together. I did it by myself with very little difficulty. The bed is nice looking and I propped a three-layer memory foam mattress on top of it. It's very comfortable so far. If not for the hardware mishap I would have rated this bed a 5-Star item. So beware that this bed comes in 3 boxes and count ALL your parts, screws, and hardware BEFORE you begin putting it together ;)

Better on paper than in practice...
On paper, this is a great idea and product. It was a nightmare to get together and the quality of the drawers and their functionality are disappointing. Would be a great college bed, first apartment bed...
Xmas bed
Bought this as a Christmas/birthday for my son and his wife (headboard too). It came in record time. Hadn't expected to see it until after Christmas but much to my surprise it arrived two days prior. They are very happy with it and love the storage space.
Great value and the extra storage is great!
For those of you looking for fine hard-wood furniture, this is not it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product and it was fairly simple to put together. The price and functionality are the best selling points, and I've been pleased with the increase in storage in our bedroom. We live in a small bungalow-style home with small bedrooms. Try putting a king-sized bed in a small room and you quickly run out of room for a dresser. Now my clothes are easily accessed and our closet doesn't feel so cramped. The clean lines of this bed are great as they don't compete with the look of the bedspread and drapery headboard treatment that are the focus of our room. The espresso finish is also nice. I do find that we frequently stub our toes on the corner of the bed, but this probably has more to do with our small bedroom than the bed itself.

The end of last week we got in several concurrent pieces. Most of them being a bedroom set that is all handmade with wood inlay and has a lacquer write 'finis' to. Do-It-Yourself Downsize: How To Build A Tiny House

And a small cabin he built in Vermont will be featured in a forthcoming book about tiny houses.

Vermont happens to be the home of another eccentric figure in the tiny house movement. Peter King, 51, lives off the grid in a geodesic dome and has several tiny houses on his property.

"I just like the sense of economy," King explains. "The sense of: you can't put a lot of stuff in there, so you have to be careful of what's important. And another beauty of the tiny house is that you can put them almost anywhere. They are moveable at this scale. You can easily put them up on rollers and pull them around."

King runs weekend workshops in which participants turn a pile of lumber on the ground into a tiny house. Four students pay for the experience, and a fifth person pays for the wood and has a new house at the end of the weekend. Most of King's students find him on the Internet thanks to a web video series called Stuck in Vermont.

I've recently discovered that I'm very talented at writing English poetry (pay attention that I live in Iran and English is a foreign language to me). I'm working on my 13th poem. Some of them turned out to be really good. The number of lines varies from 28 to 72. My style of writing doesn't fall into any usual english format. It's my own style. I'm going to put a few stanzas of my 10th poem for you "randomly" (for security reasons) and get feedback from you. As native speakers of English, do you enjoy this style of writing? If you do, then I don't have to listen to my profs and try to write just like real english poets. Pay attention that if you don't see a message, it's because you're reading some parts of it not the whole thing:

I had a dream of three celestial beings
They told me I was going to be the king of kings
They offered me to get on their white wings
To take me to a place where a sad man sings

8th stanza:

One of the beings put me down on a marble platform
Beside the crowd I was standing by a ghostly form
He approached and announced me as the king of kings
I was taken to a golden throne by one of the beings

12th stanza:

Little by little I started to hate my deeds
I was planting the self-annihilation seeds
Gradually my hatred turned into madness
After a while it was replaced by sadness

14th stanza:

When I woke up, I was lying on the bed
I thought I had slept the sleep of the dead
I remembered the message, it was as clear as day
Pride would work against you day by day

I do think, though, that the flow of the poems could be improved. I think that might be what your professors are trying to point out. I could see that you were trying to do a AABB rhyming scheme, but it didn't work quite too well in some areas (example, 8th stanza, "kings" and "beings" do not rhyme). Be careful, like in you 14th stanza, not to repeat the same word as your last word, "day" and "day." It makes the stanza sound a bit clumsy. Also, if you are going for a AABB rhyming scheme, be careful that your A's don't match your B's. Like in your first stanza: Kings, wings, sings all are too close in sound.

Over all, I enjoyed the poem very much. I love the idea behind it. I think your professors aren't trying to make you write with a different style, I think they are just using other styles as an example to get their points across on how to enhance your style and poetry. Keep up the great work!
