dissapointed
I have used the neckbone pillows for years. Every so often when they are not as firm as I would like, I buy a new one to replace it. That is why I purchased this one. Well, apparently they changed the inside filling since I last purchased this product. A fresh marshmellow is more firm than this pillow was. I went back to using my old one because it still offered more support than this new one did.
Comfort and Versatility
Outstanding comfort for on the go or everyday use.

Cannot beat the price to quality and comfort.

I can use my Bose QC15s and lay on my side and not have the over the ear headphone cup mash against my head.

I'm 6'3 and this is an Outstanding buy.
Finally found it......
I had orginally purchased "the bone" back in 1998 @ an outlet store in Georgia when I was driving from New Orleans to Virginia Beach. I used it when driving long distances as well as over 20,000 miles of airplane travel in not so comfortable military air transportation :) The bone was especially helpful to me since I'm on the shorter side & the natural curvature of the head rests on airplanes are not ergonocically suited for me.
It has only taken me 10 yrs to find it again! I'm so excited! I have tried the horseshoe shaped neck pillow, the cervical collar type pillow both of which made me feel like I was being choked. The "Nap" brand neck roll w/ the beads was decent but NOTHING beats The Bone! Do not hesitate to buy one!
Best I've tried.
I use this pillow both in bed and in a reclining chair for neck support when reading. It contours perfectly to the neck and stays in place where you put it. No weird feeling beeds here - just a firm but comfortable cotton interior. I was so happy with it, I recently picked up a second one. At that price, you can get one for every relaxing location in your home.
Good one
If you are looking for a replacement for an old worn out dog bone pillow like I was, you will be pleased with this purchase. It is sewn well, and washes and dries well. The deep evergreen color is beautiful.

It works.
I confess, I did not get this pillow for traveling, so perhaps you don't care about my thoughts on it. No, I got this pillow to help with piercing care.

I'd had some ear piercings that were still having trouble healing up, and not sleeping on them didn't seem to be an option (who can help moving while sleeping?). My friendly local piercer recommended a travel pillow to sleep on instead, so there's no pressure or tugging at all on the ear as it's centered in the hole. The problem there is that it's too low for side sleeping. So having some memory foam left over from an cutting down a mattress pad, I cut a similar shape out, laid it on top, put a pillow case on the whole thing and test drove it. It shifts a bit while sleeping--the neck pillow is sealed in fabric so close I didn't want to cut it to glue them together--but the firm memory foam in addition to the softer foam on top makes for a great custom pillow for side sleeping.

It works great for what I got it for, no complaints at all.
Neck pillow
I bought this for travel, and it worked well on a couple of recent long flights. It is well made, and the foam is firm enough to provide support. I also use it for relaxing after yoga. Met my expectations.
So comfy
The cover is soft, the memory foam is cushy, and I can lie on my back while wearing this as a neck support. It doesn't get too hot or get in the way. I am really happy with it!
alright, but I returned it
This was a nicely made u-shaped pillow, but the cover was not as soft as I had hoped. Also, it is a relatively "flat" pillow that does not give much support when you fall asleep and your head rests on your shoulder. It would work in a pinch, but there are better products out there for my purposes: airplane travel in economy...
It Worked For Me.
I purchased this item for a 14 hour flight, one-way, and it worked for me. I did finally fall asleep, and I am sure that without this item I would have experienced far more discomfort upon awaking than I did.

List Price: $65.95
• Experience Deep Sound Sleep because your body relaxes.
• Breathe easier and reduce snoring because your air passage is unrestricted
• Wake up Free of Neck and Muscle Pain because pressure is relieved when your head and neck are supported correctly.
You spend approximately 1/3 of your life sleeping. Are you getting the most out of your sleep? Use the #1 NECK PILLOW. The Cervical Linear Traction Neck Pillow can help restore the normal neck C- curve, help you improve your posture, and relieve back and neck pain. The Cervical Linear Traction Neck Pillow offers superior comfort, and provides the proper ergonomic support while you sleep- there is nothing like it on the market. It is non-allergenic, machine machine washable, latex free and fits most standard pillow cases. Used by chiropractors and health professionals all over the world! The special "V" shape in the neck pillow cradles your head and gently lifts your head away from your shoulders (much like a massage therapist would do for you). At the same time, the neck roll underneath supports your neck. While sleeping on your side, the generous, soft wings keep your head at the right height from the mattress, to relieve strain on your neck and shoulders. It works for you, sleeping on your back or side. The pressure releases, muscles relax and pain goes away. Designed to work for back and side sleepers. Flip top to bottom to use the neck roll support only. You can use the pillow every night and for the whole time you sleep. The more you can use it the better. However, some individuals may need to gradually increase the usage in stages because of some muscle soreness from such a change from their previous pillow. The Cervical Traction Neck Pillow is comfortable-it is hand stuffed with the best polyester fiber available- its non allergenic and calibrated to the most universally accepted firmness for balance of softness and effectiveness. Use the traction side for sleeping- thus giving your cervical spine a gentle stretch or the support side for sleeping.

It works!!!
I had tried many things to find a solution for an "untreatable" chronic neck pain but none worked until I tried this pillow. The day the Cervical Linear Traction pillow arrived, I had severe neck pain and tension headache that had lasted about seven days. I immediately put the pillow to use and could feel relief just after 30 minutes. Within days, even though I don't reap the full benefit of the pillow because I am a side sleeper, my neck problem was reduced so much so that I started doing vigorous exercises which I had been unable to do for years. I continue to enjoy the active life after a couple of months of using the Traction pillow. I think this pillow works because it holds the neck in a stretched position far longer than the 20-minute period a regular traction machine is normally used, therefore, giving enough time for the muscles to fully relax.

Would highly recommend to anyone who has chronic neck problem!
An excellent choice
I have looked for a replacement for my aging cervical neck pillow for several years. Since these pillows are rather pricey, I wanted to be sure I made the right choice. The first night I tried sleeping on the traction side, but that soon became uncomfortable to me. I switched to the other side, and it was very comfortable. Of course, the cervical pillow was not a new experience for me, so there wasn't much time spent in getting used to it. I am a back sleeper, and even though the advertisement says it can be used by a side sleeper, I don't think it would be very comfortable.

For me, the pillow is very much what I needed and hoped it would be.
cervical linear traction neck pillow. AMAZING!!!
THIS PRODUCT GIVES ME A WONDERFUL NITES SLEEP.
THE BEST ADDITION TO MY BEDDING.
RECCOMEND HIGHLY TO ANYONE WITH NECK & BACK PAIN.
Lifesaver for me!
The traction side of the pillow pulls too much to be helpful for me, but the other side started helping the first night that I tried it. After weeks of waking with a terrible headache and nausea, I was resolved to never sleeping decently again. This pillow gave me my first night of sleep without feeling much worse in the morning. I can't sleep without it and need to buy another to have as a spare. For me it was worth every penny. The traction side might be a little more effective if it was slightly softer, maybe it would have worked for me. The non-traction side is good enough for me.
Great pillow for neck traction.
This pillow is great for anyone suffering from some neck and shoulder muscle pain. It takes a while to adjust to the confinement but it made a big difference when I woke up in the morning. The only problem I ran into is that I sleep on my side and my back to I would have to rearrange the pillow.

DogBones NeckBones
I bought this and the big pillow. I love them....so comfortable and great for neck pain.
A great knee pillow!
I got it to use on an airline trip but the seats recline so slightly on these lousy planes that the pillow pushes the head too far forward. While traveling, however, I discovered that it was a great yoga pillow and I've been using it ever since as an adjustable pillow to hold the knees straight while sleeping. Very comfortable and doesn't slip around like a regular pillow. All around handy item. Best to forget about air travel these days, anyway!
I love these bones, wish the fabric were more comfortable.
These are the perfect size and shape, and I have a couple of them. This one, the fabric is more like a poly with a slight sheen. I would prefer cotton. They make a nice snuggly wooly one, so if you prefer a lambswool feel, I'd suggest that one. Still, it all depends on preference, they are all great!
Good pillow, but a bit firm.
I bought the Dogbones and a Fleecebones pillow at the same time. The Fleecebones is a bit softer and more pliable, but the Dogbones is good for getting the right alignment if your back or neck is hurting. I don't use this one all the time, but I am glad to have it for when I need it. My Fleecebones is my everyday pillow.
LOVE this!
This is the BEST sleeping pillow for travel! Cradles neck/head perfectly and is so comfortable!

Horrible, unless you are a Hobbit or 5 year old little girl.
This is the worst Amazon purchase I have ever made. I have nothing to say, other than this: The Bucky Utopia Neck Pillow barely fits around my wrist...not my neck! I am a 5' 7" tall adult male and weight 160 lbs. I have several other travel neck pillows, and they easily and comfortably fit around my neck. I am not exaggerating when I say that the neck groove on this pillow is literally two inches wide. If you try to pull it apart to make more room, it just tightens the back part, and is extremely uncomfortable.

How anyone can find a way to utilize this pillow is beyond me. I guess if you have a bad case of carpal tunnel syndrome it would be nice for a wrist pillow or something. I'm so disappointed...I bought this for a last minute trip and was really looking forward to using it. Maybe if there's an infant on the plane I'll give it to him. At least then somebody who can fit into it can use it.
More support w/ a dish towel!
I'd give this zero stars if that were an option. I ordered this product to use on an 11 hour plane ride to Australia. To say I am disappointed is an understatement! I would get more nect support from a dish towel draped around my neck! It might be the right shape, but the product is flimsy & floppy....and this is supposed to give support....NOT! I will be returning this item for a refund. If anyone knows of a REAL neck support pillow for sleeping during travel, please reply ASAP!
.
I wouldn't be without this pillow. My old pillow has travelled the world with me. After 12 years I decided to get a new one.
Good support
This neck pillow gives a lot of support. I haven't used it on a trip yet, but I have used it at home. Because it is filled with buckwheat it doesn't go flat and it can be adjusted and conform to the way you want. I like that the cover can be removed and washed and it attaches to your luggage when traveling.
Too small for comfort
I bought into the promise of comfort and I liked the whole organic premise but what I realized on my first use of this pillow on a flight from Boston to San Francisco is that it is way too small and tight around the neck. I am not a big guy and I don't have a thick neck but this pillow is just too small to fit around my neck and I think any other guy for that matter. Unless you are a kid or a lady, then I would say a man needs to try it on before buying. I feel it's very uncomfortable. Also it is rigid so depending on your preference - if you want your pillow to be soft and your head to sink into it this is not the pillow for you.

The Linen Gallery has styles that are in a traditional pillow shape, although smaller, and a variety of covers or shams for that size. Some stores even offer sports-team colors and logos.

Most of the rectangular styles are small enough — about 12 by 16 inches — to stuff into a carry-on bag. Even the U-shaped pillows easily fit around your bag's lift-up handle as you move from place to place.

Prices range from about $10 to more than $100.

For some, owning your own pillow beats using a pillow someone else has used.

Dr. Anne O'Keefe, a senior epidemiologist with the Douglas County Health Department in Omaha, said that's probably not a valid concern. Most viruses and bacteria die after being exposed to air, for even a short amount of time.

“It's more important that people wash their hands well,” she said, “instead of worrying about pillows and pillowcases.”

What People ask about Neck Pillows

I have Neck Pain A lot when I sleep whats the Best Tempurpedic Pillow For that?

Ceria aksed: I'm not a old person and I kinda tall and normal weight but anyway I got this tempurpedic Neck pillow large size and my neck still hurts at night.

What do you think is the Best Tempurpedic Pillow to sleep on?

tj answered: Memory foam that has the support for your neck and head are best I've seen from experience> I would check those out and if that specifies it helps your neck to ling up best I'd try using that then.
They sell them at many stores, from a big lots to a walmart. Look in the bedding/houseware section.

I got rid of mine once I got the problem causing the pain taken care of. You have pinched or tight muscles in your neck and no matter what you sleep on until they are released they are going to be painful. Once released you will be able to sleep on anything, I know I have and it no longer bothers me. Here is how to release the muscles in your neck to get rid of the pain:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.

is it normal to sleep on a tempur-pedic pillow and your neck hurts?

adam k aksed: I bought a 30 dollar foam pillow from WalMart hoping that it would help my shoulder pains. Well for the first 3 days, its taken awhile for me to get to sleep(maybe because im just getting used to it?), when i wake up my neck feels like a little bit of pain(like it just needs to get 'poped' and everything would be okay). i didn't know if its normal or if i need to see a doctor! thanks kbai!

Douglas B answered: Once you have neck pain it isn't going to matter if what kind of pillow you sleep on or what kind of bed, the problem will still be there until you release what is causing the pain in the first place. And that is the muscles in your neck. They are pinched or very tight and until they are released nothing is going to help. Here is how to release your neck muscles, after which it won't matter if you use a rock for your head, the pain will be gone:
