I opened the box it came in, felt the pillow, layed down on it and put it right back in the box. Poor quality. Went out and bought the original Temper-Pedic pillow. Lesson: you get what you pay for.

I had purchased a 4 pound serta contour pillow, what I recieved was a 1 pound contour pillow, maker of unknown origin, because the tags had been torn off! It took me a week of not great sleep to figure out that I liked it better if I flipped it over and slept on the back side of it. Like it fine now. I especially like how firm it is and it's not going flat over night.

Since I chose to take a chance on this pillow despite the other negative reviews, I will refrain from rating it any lower. However, it is advertised as a "memory" foam pillow and it is not. It is much softer than the other memory foam pillows or cushions that we own, and it is quite smelly. I am hoping that airing it out for a few days will take care of that issue. All in all, it is not a bad pillow, but it is also not what is advertised.

I have used contour pillows for years. This one is not particularly firm (likely NOT a 4 pound pillow). I read reviews before purchasing this pillow, and a lot of people raved about it. I suspect that they had never used a contour pillow before, and were comparing it to a regular pillow. Then of course it would be far superior. It is not far superior to other contour pillows however.

The fact that it has "side sleeper" in the name should be a dead giveaway, but this pillow is great for side sleepers. I woke up 2 weeks prior to this purchase with terrible neck pain. I don't like doctors, so I figured I'd wait it out until I caved and figured it was my pillow. Turns out it was, and this pillow made a world of difference.

Went through 5 sets of pillows till I found these. I love 'em. They stay cool in hot weather and perfect for back sleepers like me.

This is a decent memory foam pillow, but I really don't detect any cooling properties. Disappointing, since the "iso-cool" part was my main reason for purchase.

I purchased the gusseted side sleeper(for myself) and the traditional shape (for my wife). My wife hated hers and stopped using after 2 or 3 nights. I used mine for a week and thought is was good, but not $65 good. I spent $100 total on both pillows and expected them to make a dramatic difference in our quality of sleep. For us, this was not the case. Luckily Amazon has a good return policy and I am able to return for a full refund minus $10 for return shipping.

It's hot here in DC (really, unusually hot), and the Tempur-Pedic® version I had of this contour pillow was making sleep miserable. Figured it was time for a new one, so I settled on this version... after a three-night test I can confirm it 1) keeps its shape under your neck (doesn't flatten into a pancake), and 2) definitely stays cool! Sleeping straight through the night with great support, no tossing and turning, no waking up on fire. Mine came with the white cotton cover with the piping, but I put a regular cotton pillow case over it anyway. Definitely five stars.

I purchased this pillow about 2 months ago in order to help with my sleep and help me to breath easier while I sleep. It has done both. I am now able to have a more restful sleep each night.

Well, i've always wanted one of these contour pillows, and now that i've got one, i can never go back to a regular pillow again!!! It's so soft and really works, and the quality is top notch. My only thing is that it could be a little bigger but hey, i'm only one person.

Pillow smelled so bad I couldn't use it...put another pillow case on it and laid down but it offered no support. I never did end up using it...returned it as soon as I could get to the ups store. I am sticking with my $10 horseshoe pillow from Walmart because it actually helps ease neck pain!!

I travel a lot, and I don't have a lot of room for comfort items, so I have to make some tough calls. I have a larger memory foam pillow that was simply too big to take with me. Fine for home, but I can't even lay on the couch and watch tv with it. This one is just about perfect. It is every bit as good as my larger pillow, but a lot easier to pack up and go, and the price was more than reasonable.

I have been having problems falling asleep because my old pillow did not provide any neck support. I love the pillow I ordered through Amazon. I can fall asleep now with no difficulty. It is so soft and comfortable.

I originally purchased one of these pillows, and then another a month later for my wife.

The pillow has two different sized "humps" on either side with a depression in the middle for your head to rest in. Basically, if you've never used one of these pillows, you pick whichever "hump" feels better resting your neck on. No matter how you sleep (back, side, stomach, hanging upside-down) all you do is make sure your head lies in the depression and the "hump" is pressing right into your neck.

The pillow comes with a zippered case, but I highly recommend that you use your own pillow case over the included one. It's easier to remove and launder your own case.

I read another review of this pillow (I think it was this one) where the reviewer was complaining about how "lightweight" the pillow felt, even though it says it's a "3-pound" pillow, so he sent it back! *containing my laughter* The pillow's foam density (3 pound) has NOTHING to do with its physical weight. 3-pound density refers to how dense/springy/stiff the pillow feels to your head when compressed by weight. I would call this "medium" in my limited experience with these type of pillows.

Here's the number one downside to this, or I will assume any, foam pillow. The SMELL! The enclosed sheet instructs you to place the pillow in an area to "air out" for 24-48 hours to let the odor subside. This is a complete joke.

Here's what I would do if I were you...

Remove the included cover and wash it -- don't put it back on the pillow yet.

Place the uncovered pillow in a room, or even out on your deck where it can't get wet and LEAVE IT THERE FOR THREE WEEKS! The smell will go away with time.

Place the cover back on the pillow, including your own pillow case, and enjoy.

Obviously, I would buy this pillow again, because I did already.

I love this pillow. I was in a car accident in '06 and have had trouble sleeping ever since. I also have Primary Progressive MS and that has contributed to my sleepless nights. This pillow has made it possible for me to sleep and wake up with virtually no pain in my neck; no stiffness etc...I would recommend this pillow to anyone. The only thing I had to do was "air" it out when it first arrived; after that it was sleeping bliss!

I was looking for a supportive but soft pillow, and I had 5 different pillows on my bed to prove it. While I like the softness of down, there is no support and it needs to be squished and smashed, etc. Firmer pillows have no give. This is a great pillow. I can sleep on my side, on my back, or on my stomach and not have to worry about neck pain the next morning. Fits standard pillow cases with no problem, comes with a soft fabric cover that zips on and off. Let it air out 24-48 hours out of the fabric cover after opening it to get rid of the chemical smell.

this is the first time i am writing a review for anything on amazon. i just felt i had to inform people of this great product.

i admit this is my first memory foam pillow but i was very impressed. i usually have a problem falling asleep and getting comfortable but not after my first night with this. i wasn't sold on the memory foam concept when i first saw it but i've been convinced. also i thought the firmness of this pillow was perfect and had no issues making the transition to the memory foam world. if anything this is a great product at the price to give a memory foam pillow a try if you were always curious.

Weird foam feel. Not as nice as the name brand Isotonic or Tempurpedic pillows I've had in the past.

I am a "Pillow Junkie" as I have tried just about every type of pillow on the market. The Simmons Beautyrest Memory Foam is my absolute favorite pillow! It is perfect if you are a side or back sleeper. It is not too thick or too thin and comfortably conforms to the shape of your head. After a recent surgery and spending more time then usual in bed I was very comfortable with this pillow.

Searching Amazon.com for a pillow, I came upon the Simmons Beautyrest Memory Foam pillow. It was just what I was looking for. When it arrived it was a bit larger than expected, however I gave it to my significant other as a gift. He used it the first night (wanted one for between his knees) and liked it very much. He also thought it a bit larger than he wanted but when I suggested cutting it in half he said he liked it the way it is. It keeps its shape, free cover is a nice extra, and it has an excellent warranty. The pillow is as claimed in their ad and shipping was prompt and free! I would definitely recommend this.

I usually wake up with my neck hurting, but not since having this pillow. So far so good!

I slept on my stomach for much of my life, but in the last year, noticed an increased number of nights sleeping on my back. Along the way, I've lost sleep and gained more headaches. Someone suggested that I find a better pillow. When I saw this memory form pillow on Amazon, and on sale, I decided to try it out. When I received it, I was instantly happy with it. Having used it for a couple of weeks now, I've enjoyed better sleep, and probably as a result, less headaches.

The only negative aspect I've experienced with this pillow is when I sleep on my stomach. I find the back of my neck a little achy having slept on a pillow much higher than my old, nearly flat pillow. Overall, this is a good pillow, and I'd recommend it, especially if you sleep mostly on your back, and not on your stomach.
