Decent bargain
I was more than a little skeptical when my pillows arrived from Amazon in boxes that were seemingly far too thin to contain something advertised as "dream supreme", but once I made the cut and pulled off the tape, the pillows were quick to regain their shape and size.

The problem, of course, is that once you lay your head on them, they're quick to go back to that same thinness that they were when they were boxed up.

What's more, each of my pillows had some excess filling clinging to the outside of the pillow. Nothing more than a minor inconvenience at worst, but sitll something I've never had to deal with in prior pillows.

Shopping out and about, though, I can't say that I've found a better cost-to-quality ratio.

They do the trick.
don't feel like gel and are very soft
My husband and I have been sleeping on these pillows for 7 months now and I'm not in love with them, but I don't hate them. First of all, I read all the reviews before buying and I still expected these to have some sort of gel center or core that is like gel shoe inserts or something- rubbery and squishy but with some structure. They are just fluffy throughout like "normal" pillows. I was hoping for something a little more firm because they do not provide much head support. Because they are so soft, they also do not do well to prop you up if you like to sit in bed and read (or if you have a cold and need to sleep elevated). It is a nice pillow and I do kick off our old standard pillows and choose to still sleep on this one. For the price offered, I would probably buy them again but at least now I know they're just normal pillows and not anything spectacular.
Truely vile product
This product arrived on my doorstep smelling like rotten fish. Not realizing where the odor was coming from, I brought the box into the house. I opened the box, thinking perhaps something had spilled on the box in transit. Not true. The odor was coming from the pillows inside their own plastic wrap. They had been sent from the factory that way. The odor was so strong, I could not leave the box inside the house while waiting to return it. I have no idea what sort of "gel" is filling these pillows but I will never buy a pillow online again.
Sooooo Comfortable!!!
Without a doubt, this the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on--and you get two for the price of one! I'm going to replace all but a few treasured pillows with them. I like a softer pillow. I find them to be the perfect amount of firmness. I think some people have found them to be firm. So all I can say is they must be the kind of pillow that feels good to most people.

Don't hesitate to buy them and give them a try! Look at how many people have given this pillow a great review. It strikes me as amazing that over 200 people would take the time to say glowing things about a pillow.
Very Disapointed Neck Hurts..
This pillow is not for back sleepers, or any kind of sleeper now I that I think about it. The reason being that the pillow pushes your neck up to an uncomfortable height. This in effect contorts ones neck sleeping on it.

Alright
This book does have some nice recipes. I have seen some better sources with many more recipes as well as ways of actually making the pillows themselves, I also didn't like the fact that in the book it was recommended to NOT use essential oil, I dissagree & many others do as well.

"Making Herbal Dream Pillows : Secret Blends for Pleasant Dreams" is a perfect gift choice for that someone special. If you or a friend like herbal fragrances, arranging flowers or just potpourri in general this has many possibilities and suggestions. Thoughtful in its approach this is very well conceived. Highly recommended.
Interesting
This was a Christmas gift for my 30 yr old daughter in law. (It was on her wish list). She read me a few 'recipes' from the book over the holidays. The book seemed to hold her attention. The recipes sounded fun and made one want to start on them right away. But a trip to an Herbal Store is definitely needed. There are a lot of herbs required to make the pillows that won't be on your pantry shelf. Overall though, she seemed happy with the book. 5 stars if there weren't so many herbs not commonly on hand. The book is nicely made, not cheap looking.
beautiful
I give this book four stars because of the beautiful artwork and wonderful recipes. Very beautifully illustrated and simple to follow. However I have one complaint: most of the herbal recipes call for mugwort which I cannot find. I haven't yet tried any of the recipes in here because of that but in my opnion it is very original and definitely a keeper.
Making Herbal Dream Pillows
Wonderful book! Jim Long has done alot of research into the origins of the pillows. Very informative compact book.

Very good for neck from cervical pain.
I bought this product for my husband. He had very bad neck pain, couldn't rest at night. Unusual design gave very good neck and head support, soft enough to cure sleeping problems due to cervical pain.
Just need to make some cover for the pillow.
Very good! +

DreamGenii™ Maternity Body Support and Feeding Pillow

Kitchen from DreamGenii
List Price: $69.95
• DreamGenii™ maternity pillow aids restful sleep during pregnancy
• Encourages baby to adopt the optimal position for birth
• Doubles as a feeding support pillow with an integral back support
DreamGenii™ Maternity Support and Feeding Pillow, now available for the first time in the USA! The award winning and best selling maternity pillow from the United Kingdom. DreamGenii pillow was born out of Vanessa Blake's need for a good night's sleep while pregnant with her first child Lucas. After trying every pregnancy pillow on the market and still not enjoying a night's sleep, she designed her own. The DreamGenii is designed to position you in the optimal sleeping position for the health and well being of both mother and baby. The DreamGenii Pregnancy and Feeding Support Pillow is recommended by labor nurses across the UK. DreamGenii is recognized as the only specifically designed support pillow to adequately support back, bump and knees at the same time without taking up all of the room in the bed, thus allowing you and your partner to get a good night's rest. DreamGenii is designed to encourage you to sleep on your left side, in the recovery position, which, if used regularly from the second trimester, can encourage baby to get into the optimum position for birth. However, DreamGenii does not restrict your movements during the night and is just as comfortable while lying on your right hand side and gently prevents you from rolling on to your back during your sleep. Once baby has arrived, DreamGenii Maternity Pillow can be used as a feeding support pillow. The leg support fits comfortably into the small of your back, whilst the back and tummy supports fold over to form cradle shaped support for your new baby. Unlike other feeding pillows, the DreamGenii gives essential back support and allows for a comfortable position without putting any strain on any post birth aches and pains. This makes it ideal for breastfeeding and is an excellent support for women who have had a caesarean.

Disappointed
I had been looking for a pillow that would provide support between my legs and keep me from rolling on my back, and I'd hoped this would be the answer. While I did like that it isn't gigantic and take up half the bed, it was too thin to really support my legs (my knees still touch if it slips up between my thighs), and the little pad on the back was too small to keep me from rolling over - I just end up on top of it.

It's a good idea, but ended up being a waste of money for me. If I could have the exact same pillow with two or three times the stuffing, I'd be happy.
wont sleep without it now
I use this pillow every night during my pregnancy now and no more hip pains or numbness.

It really helps you to stay sleeping on your left side and I love the fact that you can still rest your head on your normal pillow.

I tried cheaper full body size pillows but thought they were too big. This one is perfect if you are average size
and its money well spend.
Reclaim pregnancy sleep!
I had never had any sleep difficulties until the second trimester of my pregnancy, but as many other women have experienced, I began to have problems getting comfortable at night and having aches and pains in the morning. After thorough research on pregnancy pillows of all shapes and sizes, I decided to buy the Dream Genii, and I am very glad I did! We have a full-size bed in a small bedroom, so I wanted a pillow that wouldn't kick my husband out of bed! I also liked that I would continue to use my regular pillows for my head, since many of the other brands had negative reviews about the head/neck area. The first night I used this pillow, I slept comfortably all night long and did not have the hip & lower back pain I had been dealing with. It was bliss! Since then, it has continued to help me sleep comfortably all night. I love that it is easy to use on either side, and when I turn over in the middle of the night, it stays in one place. It also allows me to still cuddle with my husband without getting in the way. I haven't yet used it as a nursing pillow because my son hasn't arrived yet, but I think it will also work well for that purpose (saving me another $40!).

There are only two small cons:
1. The fabric on the cover does pill, although this hasn't bothered me.
2. The pillow quickly loses its original level of firmness. I have been using mine for about a month, and I can tell a definite difference in its "puffiness." This hasn't affected my sleep, though, and many other bed pillows respond the same way.

I would definitely recommend this pillow!
Great help to twin-mamma!
I purchased this maternity pillow after reading reviews of the different varieties out there. I've just entered my third trimester with twins, and had been having a lot of trouble getting comfortable at night. I've definitely gotten better sleep since I received the pillow last week. Also, it's not so huge that it takes up most of the bed. My only complaint is that the fabric cover is not particularly soft.
Brilliant!
I bought this pillow based on the positive reviews on Amazon, which I want to thank every reviewer that posted. Informative shopping is the way to go. I'm overwhelmingly glad I got it - I love this pillow. That said, I've never tried another preggie pillow, so I don't have anything to compare it to. What works for me could possibly be related to my size, etc.

I'm about 5'8", small build. I've had achy hips & knees prior to being pregnant and buying a memory foam mattress topper helped remedy that. Being pregnant added new challenges. The pillow supports very well where I need it most-knees, belly, back and breasts. It is soft enough, comfortable enough and still firm enough that you can tilt on your back a bit, but still be mostly on your side as doctors recommend for pregnancy. This pillow keeps me pretty comfortable considering I'm a back sleeper and side sleeping is not natural for me.

Being pregnant, I've found myself going for roomier comfort (bigger bathroom stalls, looser clothes, isle seats, etc). I don't feel the pillow takes up too much room on our queen-sized bed typically shared with a couple of cats. I've tried using the photographic set up like you see here on Amazon & the packaging, but it doesn't suit me. I take up the right side of the bed (if you're looking at it, not in it) and I prefer to lay on my left keeping the shorter side of the pillow by the edge side of the bed for quick maneuvering to the loo in the middle of the night. This way I'm not climbing over that longer side or bonking my poor hubby or kitty in the head with it if I fold it upward. With the shorter side set up on my left, it supports my stomach and breasts better. Not to mention, then the longer side stays along my back really preventing me from rolling onto my back and the "tail end" of the pillow still curves in and supports my knees. Brilliant!

The only drawback to this product - finding additional or different pillow covers. The pillow comes with a simple white cover that's machine washable & dryable. You'll have to order covers from UK sites because this is a UK product. Shipping to the US is pricey. I was lucky enough to talk a nice UK eBay seller into letting me pay int'l shipping for his very affordably priced Dream Genii cover on eBay UK. It took a few weeks, but now I have a back up cover in case something happens to the first one (I get too pooped to wash it). I still feel happy with my purchase and that it deserves 5 stars.

Lavender blooms in desert

A slight breeze sends a subtle scent of lavender across Joan Keif’s backyard in Las Cruces, N.M.

It’s a harvest day and more than a dozen volunteers are armed with scissors and rubber bands, clipping and gathering the plants, while bees busily try to pollinate the remaining flowers.

Keif and her husband Al Polk own and operate New Mexican Lavender out of their Las Cruces home. The San Diego transplants moved there in 2004 and built a home with a beautiful view of the Organ Mountains from their backyard.

Then they thought, someone’s going to build a home right behind theirs and ruin their picturesque view. So they bought the vacant lot and began cultivating ideas to fill it.
