My step dad is...well.... not very clean. he changed his bed sheets twice last year, dosnt brush his teeth, dose not wash his hands after the toilet. no wonder why im always sick. he brings chickens into our house. sits with them on the floor, and feeds them dead maggotts. Me and my mother are very clean, tidy people. white walls, carpet, couch, etc. he feeds them corn, dead bugs, in our kitchen... Im not trying to make fun of him or anything. I'm just a little concerned about my health. I'm already very sick. Constantly. He dosn't wash his hands :/ so i super glued 'anti bacteria' wripes to the bathroom door he can just flush down the toilet. he got offended. and he gets very angry and violent and scares me sometimes. hes hurt me a few times before. but that is not the point. he thinks its normal to sit on the kitchien floor with chickens in his lap feeding them. while im cooking food, or soing something. ive tried talking to him. but he says its cold outside. as its winter. its not fair, ive been on medication since august last yr, and i think the chickens and his lousy habbits are makeing me ill. and my mom ill. me and mom are constantly sick, vommiting. and its not from us. im also embarsied bringing my friends over and boyfriends over as he talks to the chickens and dogs like "your good girl int ya! no dont peck me" its okay like.. occasialy... but he has convosations. sometimes i talk to my dog about a bad day... but he does everyday,, for hours. even the chickens. what should i do? their are obviously a number of problems here. im just fed up. ive tried talking to him, but i dont want to get my head kicked in. but i also dont want to be constantly ill. also. he threatens mom. so she cant say anything either.
I appreiciate the concern about my satfely. but i have that under control. im not scared of him anymore, im strong, inside. i can handle that. i just need help with how to stop being ill. its because of HIM. im doing everything i can
I have to shower twice aday. i cheerlead and do lots of sports and swim. Well nobody can be to clean when they go to school with thousand other kids right? well my step dad dosnt wash his hands, handles the chickens, cooks food for us, touches the door handles, light switches, it spreads. i dont like it.... its gross...
Siobhan answered: Call social services. What he does is terrible, but the fact that your mother is not protecting you from him is really messed up. Neither of them sound like competent caretakers. How much worse could foster care be? Have you tried talking to your mom? I get that she's afraid of him, but does she WANT him there? If so, you may have to leave. If not, you two need to come up with a plan to get rid of or away from him.
