Recent increases in the price of polyurethane foam has made it a challenge to find affordably priced options amongst the futon mattress products available in today's market. AIRLAY FIBRE FOAM CORE - Unlike conventional futon mattresses ours has a patented Airlay fibre-foam core which helps the futon spring back to life and retain its shape without using costly polyurethane foam. This newly developed product is made with a blend of cotton, polyester and low-melt fibers thermally bonded to produce a density of 2.8 lbs with longevity twice that of standard foam. NATURAL COTTON BATTING - The foam core is wrapped in multiple layers of pure cotton batting which gives the futon a soft natural feel. The cotton contains a small amount of non-toxic substance (boric acid) as a fire retardant, complying with California's strict safety requirements. THE CASING - Our casing is made of 6.5 oz natural white cotton duck material (similar to lightweight canvas). the mattress is a good value for the money i got one for each of my kids. they both love the comfort of the mattress ... i have personally tested out the comfort of it and was very surprised at its delivery of comfort. cant complain much at all. the only thing that was a little annoying but i guessi can understand is taking it out of the box. a bit tight of a squeeze and the plastic wrap is a pain because you dont want to cut it off for fear of ruining the mattress you have to peal it like a banana.

As my review title states, it took me about 90 minutes to put the frame together -- I only needed a cross-tip screwdriver and a small hammer. The step-by-step directions were extremely clear; both the pictures and written descriptions for each step.

The only issue I had was with a dent in the wood, but the box was torn when it arrived...and since it was left on my doorstep while I was at work I can only presume the damage was done during shipment and it didn't leave the factory/vendor in that condition. The dent wasn't a show-stopper though, I just made sure I put that slat in the 'seat' with the dent facing the floor!

The frame is well designed and easy to reconfigure from bed to sofa or vice versa. If I needed a second one I'd not hesitate to purchase this same model.

This is very simple to put together. Very well designed. My 14 yr old daughter put this together with her mom.

I purchased this for my daughters' apartment. It is a very good price considering the materials and workmanship . I think that buying this and a mattress and cover separately will be a great savings in the long run over the cheap Walmart futon i bought my son his first year in college. that lasted less than three months.

This item arrived very promptly, shipping was reasonable, given that it weighs 50 pounds, and it was extremely easy to assemble. One of the pieces did not have wood dowels in it, so my husband had to improvise a bit. If I had been assembling it on my own, I might have run into trouble. Despite this, the instructions were CLEAR and easy to follow--a nice change from most furniture assembly. The frame is very austere, but it was exactly what I was looking for to put in our spare bedroom/office. It's great because it doesn't have arms, so taller people will be able to sleep on it comfortably.

The biggest problem I had was the Amazon recommendation for a mattress. I ordered quickly and did not check that the recommended mattress was also queen size. It was a full. Stupid mistake, I know, but just make sure you quadruple check the mattress size so you don't have to return a giant futon mattress.

I bought this queen size frame on a Monday because I had a 60x80 queen size mattress from a previous futon that was destroyed when someone kicked out the arm rests. I wanted an inexpensive armless futon frame. I received the futon frame quickly (on Thursday). It was very easy to assemble (about an hour) and it looks good and sturdy (although I don't jump on it). The 80" runs across the front. The sofa and bed functions well. I would recommend this product for the price and the reasons previously mentioned.

I was looking for something loveseat size that would fit in our small living room. I also wanted to make it into a bed for guests. This was the perfect size for our little corner. We have it in the seat position and it works just like a loveseat/small couch. You have to have a thin futon mattress to do this, as you fold the bottom of the mattress under the middle. It's just long enough for me to sprawl out and read on it--I think a double size tri-fold would have been too narrow to do this. When in the lounger position, it takes up a lot of room but would be useful for those who like to lounge about in bed. The footrest can be horizontal or diagonal toward the ground. The bed is quite comfortable, although it will need some extra padding since we have the thin futon mattress on it. We had concerns that, since it is a wide queen size, it would have too much stress in the middle and be prone to breaking if too much weight were placed upon it. I don't think we have to worry about this though--the wood is quite strong.

Putting it together is somewhat complex. The instructions are good though. We worked it where I read ahead and got all the pieces together step by step, and my husband put them together.

It comes in 100 pieces and took time to build but once I got my son, who loved blocks and legos when he was young, involved we were able to assemble it in an hour.
