AT THE MARKET - In hopes of reaching a broader customer base, some case goods importers here are broadening the number of finishes available in their lines.
Some are offering two finishes on every SKU in the line, effectively doubling the size of their collections.
An example is Hooker Furniture's Harbour Pointe, which offers a dark cappuccino and a light oyster finish on each SKU, bringing the count to 90 pieces.
The company has offered  two finishes on its Kemperton bedroom and dining room collection in the past, and also has offered some pieces in Sanctuary in two finishes. But this is the first time that it has offered every SKU in a whole home collection in two finishes.
Company officials say this is a way to be proactive and broaden the appeal of the line. In addition,
