In her quest for simplicity, Mary Ellen Tressler cast her eyes on the curtains that had been hanging for the 20 years that she and her husband owned their Lower Paxton Township home.
“I hated dragging down curtains and taking them off to the dry cleaners and waiting several days to get them back and putting sheets up over the windows,” she said. “I really wanted to simplify things.”
The Tresslers, Mary Ellen and Terry, found the solution at the annual Home Builders Show in Harrisburg — easy-clean, permanently hanging shutters from the Harrisburg-area Budget Blinds franchise .
“We thought we were just going to do the front of the house first so every window would look the same, and we loved them so much, we had them come back and do the entire house,” Tressler said.
