Elizabeth's Music
Great collection of tunes of various composers (some anonymous!) and it's priced right (I also own Shakespear's Music - same music company!). I find that it works best for me when I'm working or reading! Buy it and find out for yourself!

Five stars!
You don't need a Wayback machine
Just get a CD like this one to get a broad brush review of the popular hits of the late 1500s. While I would have liked a few more recorder pieces, almost every cut was interesting in its own way. If you want just one early music CD with English songs, this is probably the one to get.
A Very Good Compilation of Elizabethan Music
"Elizabeth's Music" is a great cd to listen to if you are an enthusiast of ballads, the lute or old fashioned jigs. This cd really puts you in the alehouses, courts and courtyards of the Elizebethan age. The music is preformed well and the voices are very authentic and beautiful. The CD loses one star because most of the songs are on other Dorian-released CDs! I got the cd and found out most of the songs were the exact same ones on my "Shakespeare's Music" CD and other Dorian CDs. Ah well. All Elizabethan enthusiasts will enjoy this eclectic collection.
Light classics with historical charm
Really enjoyed this CD. Light and pleasant, without being too pretentious. Great background music for home or office.

Perfect for us!
I have been reading some of the reviews about this platform bed and some people definitely are way too picky. First off this bed looks awesome when it is fully completed! If you can take your time and follow the directions this bed will go together perfectly. Everything fits together with no flaws when you do it right. All of the building is pretty basic, its just a lot of screwing screws. There was not one challenging part and the instructions were very well written and easy to understand with visuals. I put 2 corner braces (Top & Bottom) on each side just to give it some extra support and sturdiness.

The worst part about the bed were the pieces of wood that the actual mattress sits on. There was 9 long planks of wood that go vertically across. Personally I found them pretty cheaply made and decided to buy some plywood to cut out and place on top of it. Fixes any potential problems and gives a sturdier support for the mattress. The outside can scratch fairly easily, so just be careful when around it. We bought the headboard to go with it and it makes the entire bed look that much better!

We purchased this when it was on sale for $297 and for that price it can't be beat. There was a total of about 4-5 hours spent putting it together with one person. Your going to need a Phillips head screwdriver and hammer. Honestly the hardest part of this whole bed was breaking down the 3 boxes it all came in to throw into the trash. Those things were double or triple layered with cardboard box.

I definitely am glad I purchased this storage bed and it's exactly what I expected.

It's Ok
I bought this for the storage and the fact that it was a platform bed. But the drawers don't fit flush with the bed and you have to be VERY careful because the bottoms or really thin and cheap the "platform" is really just a bunch of boards that are to short and always shift around. So I am ALWAYS having to left the mattress up and move the boards back into place.
Platform Queen Bed
The bed fits are needs for the price, but you get what you pay for the material used is still out gasing and leaves a bad odor. The drawers work and look okay but will always have to be carefull pulling them out. The bed does look very nice with a queen mattress only no box springs needed.
Before you get discouraged by the reviews...
The IKEA-style assembly of this bed does, as other reviews indicate, leave something to be desired in terms of sturdiness and creakiness. However, with a couple extra hours and about $25 worth of apparatus from the hardware store, it's easy to build this thing solid as a rock. If you've got the time and the inclination, you'll end up with a surprisingly high quality piece of furniture. (And it doesn't look cheap either.) Total assembly time, with the modifications, was about five hours for a moderately capable guy with a drill and a six-pack of High Life. You'll also need a companion to help hold things together as you're slotting together the bigger bits.

If this sounds intimidating, it's actually pretty easy. Just buy the hardware and things will be pretty intuitive once you're done slogging through the directions and you return to this.

You will need the following from the hardware store. Just ask someone there if you're unfamiliar, and they'll point you right to it:

8 2.5inch/63mm "corner braces"

A box of wood screws that are sized 6x5/8. The corner braces may come with screws, but these will be 3/4in or longer, and will poke through the wood. You're going to use the 6x5/8 screws with the corner braces.

A box of wood screws that are 1.5 inches long. Just get the narrowest ones they have, whatever gauge that may be. If they don't have something 1.5 inches, anything in that neighborhood will do.

15 feet of 1/2in wide heavy duty felt tape. (Get six rolls of the stuff and you won't run out.)

STEP 1: Before you install the slats on which the bed will rest and connect the whole thing together, stick a strip of felt across the top of the two inside support beams. This will help keep the beams from rattling around under your mattress.

STEP 2: Once you have assembled the frame, take the longer wood screws and drill them down through each slat into the support beams, right through the felt. Make it nice and tight.

STEP 4: Cut the felt tape into 3 inch strips and, without removing the wax paper backing, slip them into the slots where the ends of the slats are fitted, using a flathead screwdriver to stuff them in if you have problems. This will tighten the ends so that they don't rattle around in the metal bracket.

STEP 5: Drill the corner braces using the 6x5/8 screws into each of the four corners. It will be obvious where to put them: you're just trying to firm up the connection between the side beams and the ends, so that they don't flex around. I found it helpful to put the top four horizontally (directly above the slats) and bottom four vertically (like an L, inside the opening where the drawer will go). Don't worry that you will impinge on the drawers -- there's room.

(It's also helpful to run some felt tape along the bottom of the bed, especially if you have wood floors, so that you can move it around without scratching.)

Congrats, you now have an extremely solid (and subtly classy looking) bed. And you spent $350, not $800.

save your money...
My mother in law ordered this bed for my husband and I after we moved into our new apartment. I put it together fairly easily but it was missing parts (some nails). While the instructions were clear the draws didn't fit quite right into the slots and are crooked on both sides. The slats make loud popping type noises when anyone (including our 25 lb dog) gets onto the bed, which apparently our neighbors below us can hear. While this frame was very cheap and has lasted several months I would have much rather spent a bit extra for something that actually looked put together. I really hate looking at all the draws which some don't close all the way, others are crooked, and the mattress doesn't quite fit properly. All in all I would recommend saving your money and buying something else!

is it worth?
I bought this to save money. The exterior parts are strong. But the interiors especially the drawers are too fragile. Two of them already had a crack. It took me 8 hrs to assemble this bed and head board. The instructions are not so clear. So i assembled the headboard in the opposite direction(bottom part facing forward and the upper facing backward): ). So there was some extra work! Next time i may be able to do in 5hrs-may be!

I spent almost $600. I am not sure this is a good decision. If all the parts are equally strong, i would be happy. Anyway lets see how long it last
nice but rough around the edges
for the price, this was definantly worth it. it isnt high quality, but if you're like me, just starting out in a tight place, with limited funds, this is perfect. it does have low edge corners and i have so many bruises to show for it!! (that comes with the tight living quarters!) storage drawers are great! very roomy and if you watch clean house you know how to make things fit!! i would definanlty recommend this for someone who needs the space and is low on the flow. :o)

Treat yourself to summer

Posted by admin Jun 20, 2010COMMENTS

Through good times and bad, Greek summers endure as the most beautiful in creation. My bliss is Sifnos, one of the Cyclades, under a burnished August sun, or in equally luminous September, when Europeans go home and prices plummet. Sifnos and its people are warm, grounded in their own social structure, and unspoiled by tourism. When the arriving hordes vaporize onto the many beaches, Sifnos is bathed in countryside quiet and lovingly preserved white villages, including the medieval walled Kastro. Dozens of stone-paved hiking trails lead you in the footfall of ancestral Sifnians and their mules from town to town, among small farms and olive groves. People here still make pottery in workshops at the water’s edge, and they are passionate about simple, savory food prepared with the ingredients

What People ask about Queen Captains Bed

Give me your opinion on my characters?

Izzy aksed: i can finally give brief descriptions on various characters from my story. some will be protagonists. some will be antagonists. some will be majors and some will be minors. there will a lot of people in my series. most of these characters will be similar to some characters from other tv shows but they won't be exactly the same. some things will be changed around. this way i can make it to where it's my own version. here they are:

1) Deanna Santos: The main protagonist; known to be "the girl that everything happens to"; described as "kind of a chameleon; the girl who seems to have drama follow her everywhere. She's a typical full blooded boricua from New York and is proud of being a Latina. She is the rich, detached, dissipated, and frivolous daughter of a music producer and socialite, for whom sex is only another way to be entertained, which be part of her back story and as the series goes on, many different sides to Deanna will unravel and you will understand why Deanna is the way she is. Deanna possesses both manipulative and sensitive sides. She will share similarities with original 90210 characters Brenda Walsh, Kelly Taylor, and Valerie Malone; new 90210 characters Naomi Clark and Adrianna Tate Duncan; Gossip Girl character Blair Waldorf; Degrassi characters Manny Santos and Alex Nunez; South of Nowhere character Ashley Davies; and One Tree Hill character Brooke Davis.
2) Alex Berrios: Deanna's older half brother; often portrayed as naive, judgmental, overprotective, and somewhat controlling. Although him and Deanna are shown to get along and share a good sibling relationship, Alex is shown to be overly protective of her and goes at great lengths to keep Deanna from having any alone time with his group of his friends because most of Alex's friends have a thing for Deanna and seem to be more interested in hanging out with her than with Alex. The reason behind this is because they feel that when they hang out with Deanna, they can talk to her about anything and she won't judge them, she'll understand. But when they try to talk to Alex, he either doesn't listen or is too quick to judge and jumps to conclusion without hearing their side of the story. You'll see more of this evolve in the series as well. Overall Alex is the guy who "always judges everyone."
3) Jimena Lopez: The typical queen bee and captain of the cheerleading squad; Deanna's former best friend. Shares similarities with Degrassi character Paige Michalchuk and South of Nowhere character Madison Duarte. Her and Deanna were best friends until they both developed a crush on the same guy and the guy took more interest to Deanna and not Jimena which is what ended the friendship. Throughout the series their rivalry will play out and you can expect a good cat fight from these two.
4) Billy Allen: Alex's skeevy best friend; described as being nosy, a brown noser, jock, bully, the creator and starter of drama, and card shark. Shares similarities with 90210 character Mark. He has ways sneaky and vindictive ways of bribing people to get what he wants. He's also the type of guy who meddles in other people's business and has ways of twisting the truth around. Deanna greatly dislikes Billy because of this and is also his main target of meddling in her business. He also secretly has thing for Deanna and tries to bed Deanna on several occasions though she brushes him off each time. He will definitely have a huge role in most of the drama that occurs in the series.
5) Lacey Sawyer: The sweet and sugary girl next door; bubbly and shy; eventually breaks out of her shell; shares similarities with 90210 character Donna Martin and Degrassi character Darcy Edwards. She is first introduced as Deanna's childhood friend. Lacey grew up as a strict Catholic, and her mother's strict rules on morality will be a running story line for much of the series. Because of this, Lacey, bu choice remained a virgin. Throughout the series she will go through different issues such as being in an abusive relationship, discovering she has dyslexia, and being stalked.
6) Ivy Laderman: The main female antagonist/villain of the series; the true poster of female villains; shares similarities with 90210 character Emily Valentine and Gossip Girl character Georgina Sparks. She is the enemy and target of many of the characters that include Deanna, Alex, and Lacey. She is much like Billy only more evil of course. She is an attractive, distinguished, and elegant girl. Very insecure and jealous, incapable of controlling her passions, she turns everyone's life in high school into a prison for them. Her explosions of fury, motivated by jealousy and extremely self destructive, manage to convince everyone that she's crazy. In reality, what Ivy wants is to attract attention to herself and manipulate everyone else at her whim. Ivy is incapable of truly loving anyone besides herself. She may lust for g
i had typed two more characters after ivy but unfortunately it got cut off. sorry about that. but overall what do you think of the characters? do they sound believable? do you think the need improvement? if so what can i do to improve them? if you want to know more message me and i will give you the deets.

who's your favorite and least favorite character so far?

Lord Infamous ♥ Penguins ¤FC¤ answered: favorite would have to be Jimena... i've always taken a liking to characters like her. characters like her add the vibrant color and attitude that make a good book. as for the rest, they seem pretty good; just remember to continue to make them your own and not so much as what you are basing them off of. keep up the good work :). i will send you an email tomorrow to answer the questions you asked in giving best answer.

wow. I really like your characters.
l0l that was a lot of info though.
my favorite would have to be
Deanna Santos.
