. aksed: I'm pregnant with twins. I just found out that my husband will more then likely be deployed before the twins are born. I'm just wondering how I'm going to handle having two newborn babies, and a child with autism that requires therapy 4-5 days a week. I can't move 3,000 miles to be with my mom, because of my autistic son. My ob/gyn has told me that I WILL have to go on bed rest. I won't have a choice in the matter. My ob/gyn is a captain in the Navy. He is going to write a letter to my husbands command to see if they will let him deploy at a later time. Argghh. If he has to deploy, should I ask the ladies in my husbands command for help? I can't do this by myself. I will have to have c-section, and I know the recovery period is 6 weeks or so. I'm at a loss. What should I do?
answered: WOW. I am so sorry for your predicament. I have a 10 month old and am 2 months pregnant again, my husband will be deploying 1 month after the new baby is due, and we have no family around. So I can relate on a very minimal scale. I do not know what to tell you except that, at least in the Air Force, they have disaster relief funds that you can apply for.... maybe you can apply for aid to hire some help? A part time nanny or something? Or maybe you have a few friends who can each come stay with you for a week or two after the babies are born to help at night and so on?
