South shore captains beds are really well made and solid, and pretty easy to put together. It came in excellent shape. It is press-board, obviously at this price, but the pieces are sturdy. The hardest part is putting it together, because sometimes when you nail a piece if you don't have the angle just right, you'll split and break out through the fiberboard. Make sure you're nailing straight.

The beds are sturdy enough for little ones jumping on them in general. My biggest problem was that, on the blue one, the stain would easily come off when stickers or tape were peeled away. I'm not sure if I will have the same problem with the black, but most problems with black stain can be fixed with a black sharpee.

We bought this "bed" for our 3 year old because our 1 1/2 year old was ready to transition from the crib to the toddler bed. We searched everywhere for a bed that was both good with our budget and sturdy. We had chosen a different bed, but it required that we buy a mattress separately. So we looked again and looked at this bed again. It never said that there wasn't a mattress included. We also looked at all of the customer reviews and none of them mentioned that the mattress had to be bought separately either. So our assumption was that the mattress came with the bed. When the "bed" arrived in the mail, we were happy with how well it was packed and shipped. There was only 1 dent, but it didn't effect the parts at all. Very impressed with that, especially because nearly every package we've received from multiple sellers and companies have been dented.
It was very easy to assemble and only took a couple of hours. It looks very sturdy and our daughter loves it. The drawers are not snug as other buyers have said. You just have to make sure the drawer runners are completely flush with the drawer.
We were irritated that the bed didn't come with a mattress as we had assumed. We contacted Amazon because of this to see if they could compensate us at least a little bit for our trouble and their false advertisement. They refused to compensate us, but promised that they would correct the product description. This is how it read to us when we bought it: "This Shaker-style twin bed coordinates with many home decors. Note the part that it talks about the "collection". It says right after it that "each piece is sold separately". We took this to mean that each part of the COLLECTION was sold separately, not that each piece of the BED was sold separately. Amazon assured us that it means that the mattress is not included. Hope they correct that so no one else is tricked by their words. We don't agree with no compensation for their error, but at least other people won't make that mistake if they are reading the customer reviews. Even if you do your research, they like to trick you with their catch 22s.

Bed arrived in great condition, no major damage or issues. It was relatively easy to put together. My daughter loves it. Very fashionable and functional, great storage drawers. Happy with purchase.

Remember when buying this product that you are spending much less than what you would pay for a higher end product. I bought this for my three year old and so far so good. Didn't take too long to put together if you know how to follow direction. I did it by myself in about 3 hours. Bed seems very sturdy. My only complaint is that the drawers are VERY snug. Almost difficult to pull out. Fortunately I use them to store things that my son doesn't need access too. He cannot open the drawers by himself. He is a tough 3 year old and they fit too snug for him to pull out. The bed looks really nice and a big perk is the space saving drawers and the fact that you don't need a box spring for the mattress. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a child and intends on the child taking the bed with them when they move out. I do not recommend using this bed for a guest room that adults would be sleeping in.

I got this Twin Bed two weeks ago for my son. It took about hour and a half to assemble it and is pretty straight forward. Drawers fit pretty nicely as well. This bed is pretty good for its price.

Easy to put together, really nice, quality, solid wood (not laminated particle board). Sturdy, TONS and I mean TONS of storage space. My 85-lb dog walked himself right in when I opened the door in the baseboard and easily turned himself around to come back out once he completed his inspection. The shipping company pulled a no-show without calling me on delivery day but the seller was very helpful to get things cleared up.
