Called UCube, the product was developed by Paul Fuerstenau, general manager of furniture source Maco Lifestyles Furniture.
Fuerstenau, a 30-year industry veteran who was the plant manager for former unfinished wood furniture producer Maco Corp., came up with the UCube concept in early 2008. That was when he helped start Maco Lifestyles to resurrect Maco Corp., which had gone out of business in 2007.
